Statement: | The Wildcat Esport Arena at Western Nevada College (WNC) serves as a hub for gaming, collaboration, and learning. This policy outlines the guidelines for operation, usage, and maintenance of the Esport Arena to ensure a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable environment for all participants. |
Section 1: Purpose
The Wildcat Esport Arena is designed to enhance student engagement and provide a collaborative environment for gaming and educational opportunities.
Section 2: Scope
This policy applies to all students, faculty, staff, and authorized guests who utilize the Wildcat Esport Arena. All users must comply with the policies outlined herein, as well as additional WNC policies and codes of conduct.
Section 3: Operating Hours
The Esport Arena’s hours of operation will be posted on the WNC Student Life webpage.
Special events, tournaments, or maintenance may result in changes to operating hours.

- The Esport Arena is open to current WNC students, faculty, staff, and approved guests.
- Valid WNC identification (ID) is required for entry.
- WNC student, faculty, and staff ID cards are available at the Student Life Help Desk.
- All users must have a current Wildcat Esport Arena User Agreement Form
on file prior to using the facility. - Users under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian consent prior to
using the facility. - Access privileges are contingent on compliance with the Esport Arena
policies and procedures.

Personal Equipment:
Users may not connect personal peripherals, gear, or USB devices without prior approval from Arena staff.

Any personal items brought into the Wildcat Esport Arena, such as gaming peripherals (e.g., keyboards, mice, headsets), laptops, or other accessories, must not display symbols, text, images, or designs that promote discrimination or hatred against any group based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or disability.
Gaming Content:
The Wildcat Esport Arena follows the guidelines set by the Entertainment Software
Rating Board (ESRB) system to ensure games
are appropriate for their intended audiences.
- Gaming content in the arena may include titles ranging from Everyone (E) to Mature 17+ (M).
- Mature 17+ (M)-rated titles are intended for players aged 17 and older and may contain
intense violence, strong language, or mature
themes as defined by ESRB guidelines. - Users under 18 must have parental consent to participate.

Section 7: Prohibited Activities
Tampering with or misusing equipment, including hardware, software, or networking
systems.
Attempting to modify, unplug, or move gaming stations or components without staff
permission.
Engaging in gambling, cheating, or any illegal activity.
Using explicit, offensive or derogatory language, including slurs or aggressive comments,
regardless of intent.
Section 8: Violations and Disciplinary Actions
Severe infractions may result in immediate suspension or removal.
Damages caused by negligence or improper use will result in liability for repair or
replacement costs.
Repeat offenders may face further disciplinary action, including referral to the WNC
Student Relations Office for further evaluation.
Section 9: Health and Safety
Epilepsy Warning: The arena uses colored LEDs and lighting effects that may trigger
seizures in individuals with photosensitive epilepsy.
Users are encouraged to take breaks to prevent fatigue and maintain well- being during
extended gaming sessions.
Section 10: Compliance and Agreement
All participants/users must read and acknowledge the Wildcat Esport Arena
User Agreement form prior to using the Wildcat Esport Arena. The User Agreement is available at the Student Life Desk or on the WNC Student Life webpage.
Signed agreements are required each semester and are kept on file at the Student Life Desk.
Failure to adhere to the policies may result in suspension of privileges or further disciplinary measures.
Section 11: Updates and Amendments
This policy is subject to periodic review and updates. The latest version will be
made available on the WNC Student Life webpage.
