Ensuring students have the support they need - in the moment they need it most
As part of this partnership, students have access to a 24/7 On-Demand Crisis & Support Line at 844-287-6963, which complements our Individual Counseling support service. This dedicated line allows students to reach out at any time—day or night, weekends included—for immediate crisis assessment and intervention. Every call is answered by a Master's-level behavioral health clinician trained in crisis counseling.
Your first session with an accredited compassionate counselor is a few easy steps away!
Through this collaboration, WNC students will gain access to BetterMynd's confidential, online therapy services, providing a convenient and accessible way to receive professional mental health care. This initiative reflects our commitment to supporting student well-being and ensuring that mental health resources are readily available to our campus community.
BetterMynd supplements on-campus mental health resources by providing free and highly personalized online therapy to students to meet their unique needs, including access to free 50-minute scheduled teletherapy sessions, a diverse network of mental health clinicians, and the scheduling flexibility needed for students to make meaningful progress with mental health challenges. Sessions can take place anywhere the student is most comfortable, during the day, at night, or on weekends.
You can register using the preferred email address you provided to WNC during your application. Once you register for your personal BetterMynd account, simply fill out a brief intake survey to assist in matching you with the best counselors and resources for your specific needs.
After completing your intake survey, you will have access to your student dashboard. There you can view counselors and schedule your first session. Your dashboard is also where you'll attend teletherapy sessions. You can also explore upcoming wellbeing workshops. Please note that these workshops incur an additional cost that is not currently covered by WNC.
