Sep 4, 2023

Deb Conrad, Prison Education & Apprenticeship Program Director at Western Nevada College (WNC), recently served on a panel discussing the role of Career Technical Education in preparing people with records for the workforce at the 77th  International Conference & Training Event in Portland, Ore.

The panel discussion was hosted by Jobs for the Future's . Conrad was able to highlight WNC's efforts in expanding its CTE offerings at Northern Nevada Correctional Center and Stewart Camp and discuss the ways the college strives to offer equitable program options at the prisons.

Earlier this year, Conrad was selected to participate in Jobs for the Future’s , which is a two-year project supporting organizations in refining and expanding current CTE programs and launching new ones in prison settings. She was invited to join the panel discussion as a result of her involvement in the Accelerator Network.
