GEAR UP Student Spotlight: Meet Rachel
Rachel Morris lives in Yerington, Nev., where she works as a CNA at South Lyon Medical
Center. She currently attends WNC, where she is taking her general education and prerequisite
courses to become a Registered Nurse. After nursing school, Rachel plans to continue
her education to become a Certified Registered Nurse anesthetist.
Growing up, Rachel did not think college was in the realm of possibilities due to
financial barriers. However, with her dreams of becoming a nurse in mind, she pushes
herself to find ways to make college possible. She works full time, commutes an hour
and a half each way to take classes and has completed many scholarship applications
to make her dreams a reality. All of her hard work is paying off!
