She was sponsored for the award by WNCs Foundation.

Dr. Jennifer Verive is being recognized for her years of inspirational teaching, supportive mentoring, for sharing resourceful career training and guidance, and for instilling confidence that has empowered local women to pursue their goals and dreams, said Sherry Griffin Grundy of the Celebrating Women Helping Women event committee. For the past 14 years, her students at WNC have benefited from her energy and commitment to sharing skills that encourage critical thinking, teach stress management and enable goal achievement. Dr. Verive has developed programs such as AAUWs WorkSmart course and the Courageous Choice program that offer women new strategies and increased confidence when addressing salary negotiation, challenging life situations and career development. Dr. Verive is providing opportunities for women to develop life enhancing skills that also inspire and further their success. We recognize her dedication and her ability to connect with and support women in our community.

Verive also devotes time to the Capital branch of the American Association of University Women. She has conducted workshops to help women negotiate their salaries and benefits.

In my roles as a WNC instructor and co-president of AAUW Capital (Nevada), my goal is to have students leave my courses and workshops more confident in their abilities to achieve their own goals, Verive said. I seek to lift up all those I work with, particularly women and girls, whether that is through teaching a WNC course, facilitating an AAUW Work Smart salary negotiation workshop or 1-one-1 mentoring. As a passionate advocate for women and students in transition, I am very honored to be recognized by Soroptimist International of Carson City for my work in our community.
