Ceramics Class Students Transform Clay into Pottery

For students in Robin McGregors ceramics class, a Raku pottery firing event in early May emphasized the different steps necessary to finalize their pieces of artwork.
Class participants Adelina Pacheco Carrillo, Debbie Murphy, Miguel Prado, Makayla Mueller and Alan Weld watched as a miniature kiln reached more than 1,700 degrees to bake their ceramics class creations.
After being heated up, their pieces of artwork were cooled in miniature garbage cans with cracked lids and wet towels hanging over them.
Eventually, they were brought out for more cooling and glazing.
